Background
I am a UK trained General Practitioner originally from Kenya (Africa). I obtained my medical degree in Kenya after which I undertook working for a charitable health clinic as a solo health practitioner for 3 years before moving to the UK where I trained to be a GP.
I worked in the UK in the NHS(National Health Service) for 17 years of which 13 were as a General Practitioner before I moved to Australia in 2019. While in the UK I undertook further training in Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology(DRCOG UK) plus a Certificate in Medical Education. I was supervising and training Medical students and doctors in GP training.
I am a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. I am passionate about medical education and am currently an academic Mentor at Melbourne Medical School.
I have diverse experience as a GP having worked in different continents of the world. I have keen interest in general adult medicine, sexual health and men’s health. I also have worked extensively during the Covid Pandemic in Covid testing/screening/vaccination hubs and currently still during the weekend work in GP respiratory clinics.
I adopt a friendly and informal approach to my consultations.
Outside work I enjoy running, hiking and cycling and being in Melbourne enjoy the various culinary experience it has to offer.
